THE COSMOS’ BEAT
By Carl Martin Johnson

I feel the cosmos throbbing,
Overpowering my heart.
I sense all Heaven sobbing,
As Mankind breaks apart.

How did we lose our way
Along the path to truth?
What has made us stray,
So early in our youth?

Will our species die
Through ignorance and fear?
Will we leave God’s eye
As a mournfully dropped tear?

It must not be too late.
We are born of Divine Soul.
We can change our Fate,
Our destiny control.

I AM A WAVE
By Carl Martin Johnson

I am a rolling ocean wave.
One day I’ll reach the shore.
My being then no one can save.
I will be no more.

‘Til then I have the stars above,
The wondrous depths below me.
There’ll be many things I love
‘Fore sweet Death comes to know me.

CITY ON A HILL
By Carl Martin Johnson

There was a City on a Hill.
Many gods lived there.
They ruled the universe until
Mankind became aware.

We challenged the Divine.
Set Man up in their place.
We saw the real God’s shine,
But we could not see His face.

So we worshipped Man.
The Sun, the Moon, the Earth.
Abandoned evolution’s plan
To give a God-Man birth.

We are now like other brutes.
Hope for improvement small
We have strayed far from our roots,
We must rise up from our fall.

DEATH, SHOW ME YOUR FACE
By Carl Martin Johnson

Show me your hard face, O Death.
Let me see your eyes.
I am Man, and I have breath.
But everybody dies.

Yet you instill in me no fear,
Nor, I think, do you intend.
You simply softly hover near,
A silent ghostly friend.

Must I wait to meet you
‘Til I knock at eternity’s gate?
Let me sooner greet you,
To bargain for my fate.

Though, if your mind is certain,
If no exception can be made.
I’ll pass through your gentle curtain,
Into the Light from this life’s shade.

TOUCHING YOU IN THE MORNING
By Carl Martin Johnson

I touch you in the morning,
Soft, before you wake.
Caresses with no warning,
For gentle passion’s sake.

Each breast a soft pink mound,
Rose petal textured skin.
Loving hillocks crowned
Where my searching lips have been.

I watch my fingers trace
Over every vale and hill.
From thighs to lovely face,
Working with erotic skill.

Should I rouse your desire,
Your smile will tell me so.
Then I will light your fire,
Set all of you aglow.

But if you stay in dreams,
My touch will carry on
Until your beauty beams
In the first rays of the dawn.

LOST DREAM
By Carl Martin Johnson

He’d lost his latest dream.
But he would find a new one.
A mighty, wondrous scheme.
He knew that he could do one.

He had grasped for many a star,
Although he had not caught one.
Couldn’t get to where they are,
Yet persistently he sought one.

One day he’d grab the glow
Of a dream there shining bright.
At last then he would know
How it felt to win the fight.

THE END OF THINGS
By Carl Martin Johnson

I’m coming to the end of things.
Death is very near.
I’ll soon see what the next stage brings,
What wonders will appear.

I feel no hesitation.
I’ll go willing through the door.
With great anticipation
Of what the next world holds in store.

IN MY HEART
By Carl Martin Johnson

I hold you in my heart,
Though you will never know it.
We’ll forever be apart.
But my eyes will show it.

TERRORIST
By Carl Martin Johnson

In the shadows he stood waiting.
Soon he would be killing.
He had grown up hating.
Now he found slaughter thrilling.

He knew his god would praise him,
Meet him at paradise’ gate,
Send heaven’s wonders to amaze him
As reward for all his hate.

He would overcome his fears
As the bloodlust filled his heart.
His attack was drawing near.
He longed for death to start.

CAN I GO BACK AND FIND MY YOUTH?
By Carl Martin Johnson

Can I go back and find my youth?
Does it still live inside me?
Or must I now accept the truth,
That time was sent to guide me?

ALONE
By Carl Martin Johnson

Sometimes I feel so damned alone,
Just the universe and I.
Tossed into existence on my own,
No one to see me cry.

My fellow humans stand apart.
They cannot reach inside.
No one there to warm my heart.
No tenderness to abide.

I share no life with those I hold.
No passion, only lust.
My loins afire quickly grow cold
With ejaculation’s thrust.

Why can’t my heart find more?
Why can’t my soul unite?
Will I find real love’s door,
Or is loneliness my plight?

STAR LOVER
By Carl Martin Johnson

She called me from a star.
Life form unlike my own.
No matter what we are,
It’s love that sits the throne.

I know that we will meet.
Will intermix our genes.
To make a life complete,
That from the old breast weans.

He will be a being new
Of our two worlds’ creation.
Many wonders he will do.
And be Mankind’s salvation.

Come lie with me black cat.
Let me hear you purr.
I will whisper to you that
You remind me of her.

START AGAIN
By Carl Martin Johnson

Today I’ll start my life again,
All of me renewed.
It matters not what I have been.
There’ll be better goals pursued.

I will put mistakes behind me,
Be kind where I had harmed.
Stand where grace can find me,
By evil not be charmed.

I’ll ensure the path I take
Is leading to the Light.
And my way, for honor’s sake,
Is guided by what’s right.

Listen to the angel’s voice,
Giving you direction,
Telling you you have the choice
To achieve perfection.

LIFE’S FACE
By Carl Martin Johnson

I gazed into Life’s face today,
And she looked back at me.
There were words that she would say,
A vision for me to see.

I tried my best to understand.
Life’s wisdom I’ve always treasured.
I mostly complied with her command,
And mostly she has pleasured.

At last Life blinked to let me in.
She showed me what she knew:
The best way that I could begin
To find out what is true.

It was a rocky twisting road,
But one that could be traveled.
Happiness would be bestowed
As the path unraveled.

Then she winked her laughing eye,
Bent to whisper in my ear
That I could own her if I try
She would hold me dear.

LOST MEMORIES
By Carl Martin Johnson

She could feel her memories fading.
Each day she lost one more.
She imagined demons raiding
The recollections in her store.

The memories were her being.
They were what made her whole.
When she no longer had their seeing,
Her mind would lose control.

She sensed herself dissolving
Back to nothing once again.
Perhaps she was devolving
To before she’d ever been.

IF OUR LEADERS ARE TOO WEAK
By Carl Martin Johnson

If our leaders are too weak,
Then men like me will fight.
If a war is what you seek,
Then come and face our might.

TIRED
By Carl Martin Johnson

I’ve lived hard in my day.
Now the good night calls me.
It’s time I be on my way
To learn what next befalls me.

First I’ll peaceful sleep,
Before I wake again.
My rest will be so deep
I’ll rise anxious to begin.

With this life’s curtain pulled aside,
I’ll be on a new life’s stage.
Yes, I will have died,
But small price to’ve turned the page.

I WILL WIN TODAY
By Carl Martin Johnson

I will win today,
No matter what the fight.
Good luck will come my way.
I see my future bright.

Every dragon I will slay.
Their hot breath will not burn.
What Life brings to the fray,
Will cause me no concern.

I’ll vanquish your demons, too.
I’ve strength enough to spare.
Because, friend, I love you.
You’ll see how much I care.

MY WILDNESS
By Carl Martin Johnson

I celebrate my wildness,
My soul that wanders free.
I find no joy in mildness.
That style of life’s not me.

Life, I will devour you.
All of you I’ll take.
Virgin days, I will deflower you.
We’ll love for passion’s sake.

Do not try to tame me.
Life, you’re not my master.
Even lightning does not shame me.
I’m more powerful, and faster.

You all join me if you dare.
Life cannot defeat us.
Dangers we will share,
And trials sent to meet us.

PREACHERS OF HATE
By Carl Martin Johnson

Some preach only hate
To serve their selfish ends.
They’ll not enter Heaven’s Gate.
They are Satan’s friends.

LOOKING AT THE MIDNIGHT SKY
By Carl Martin Johnson

He gazed up at the midnight sky,
Wondering at its glory.
He wished that he could float up high
To learn a blue star planet’s story.

Was someone there looking back at him?
Wondering about his Sun?
If on a planet of a star so dim,
Real life had begun?

DALLAS: BLUE LIVES MATTER
By Carl Martin Johnson

I will live hard today,
With no thought of tomorrow.
That is the only way
To overcome my sorrow.

The dead will not return.
They’ve found a better place.
May their killer in Hell burn.
Forever in disgrace.

And may they who instigate,
Be shunned, cursed and reviled.
For their greed and vicious hate,
May each be known as Satan’s child.

Only he will not ignore you,
Hold you gently ‘til the end.

LISTEN TO THE QUIET
By Carl Martin Johnson

Listen to the quiet
Falling softly in the dark.
So thick that you can spy it,
Like the cosmos’ beauty mark.

With affection it surrounds,
Folds you in its warm embrace.
Tenderness abounds
On its unseen angel face.

In the peaceful still
You can hear God’s voice.
Heed it if you will.
Take it, make the choice.

BANSHEE ON THE WIND
By Carl Martin Johnson

She streaks by on midnight wind,
And you would be her lover.
Pursue her beauty to the end
For there are none above her.

Down she swoops in lightning flight,
Talons seizing hearts of men.
Banshee, she, who rules the night.
To desire her is great sin.

Her wails are moans of Satan’s lust.
Bestial coupling none can see.
But chase the banshee, if you must.
You will burn for eternity.

LONELY DAYS ARE GONE
By Carl Martin Johnson

Lonely days are gone.
I’ve put them all behind me.
I’ll just smile and carry on.
I know that love will find me.

Someone like me is waiting
For two souls to be one.
For a world we’ll be creating
With no darkness, only sun.

Soon she will be here.
Each day will be worth living.
Our lives will be held dear
For the love we both are giving.

Nor am I this life’s slave.
They chase, but I am faster.
Strike fear, but I am brave.

LUCIFER ALONE
By Carl Martin Johnson

The Devil is a lonely one,
With no surcease of sorrow,
Paying eternally for what he’s done.
For him, there’s no tomorrow.

He will never have a friend,
No lover to embrace.
His quarantine will never end.
He spat in his Maker’s face.

There are no flames to burn him.
His Hell is isolation.
All other beings spurn him.
No pity for his desolation.
