THE COSMOS’ BEAT
By Carl Martin Johnson
I feel the cosmos throbbing,
Overpowering my heart.
I sense all Heaven sobbing,
As Mankind breaks apart.
How did we lose our way
Along the path to truth?
What has made us stray,
So early in our youth?
Will our species die
Through ignorance and fear?
Will we leave God’s eye
As a mournfully dropped tear?
It must not be too late.
We are born of Divine Soul.
We can change our Fate,
Our destiny control.

I AM A WAVE
By Carl Martin Johnson
I am a rolling ocean wave.
One day I’ll reach the shore.
My being then no one can save.
I will be no more.
‘Til then I have the stars above,
The wondrous depths below me.
There’ll be many things I love
‘Fore sweet Death comes to know me.

CITY ON A HILL
By Carl Martin Johnson
There was a City on a Hill.
Many gods lived there.
They ruled the universe until
Mankind became aware.
We challenged the Divine.
Set Man up in their place.
We saw the real God’s shine,
But we could not see His face.
So we worshipped Man.
The Sun, the Moon, the Earth.
Abandoned evolution’s plan
To give a God-Man birth.
We are now like other brutes.
Hope for improvement small
We have strayed far from our roots,
We must rise up from our fall.

DEATH, SHOW ME YOUR FACE
By Carl Martin Johnson
Show me your hard face, O Death.
Let me see your eyes.
I am Man, and I have breath.
But everybody dies.
Yet you instill in me no fear,
Nor, I think, do you intend.
You simply softly hover near,
A silent ghostly friend.
Must I wait to meet you
‘Til I knock at eternity’s gate?
Let me sooner greet you,
To bargain for my fate.
Though, if your mind is certain,
If no exception can be made.
I’ll pass through your gentle curtain,
Into the Light from this life’s shade.

TOUCHING YOU IN THE MORNING
By Carl Martin Johnson
I touch you in the morning,
Soft, before you wake.
Caresses with no warning,
For gentle passion’s sake.
Each breast a soft pink mound,
Rose petal textured skin.
Loving hillocks crowned
Where my searching lips have been.
I watch my fingers trace
Over every vale and hill.
From thighs to lovely face,
Working with erotic skill.
Should I rouse your desire,
Your smile will tell me so.
Then I will light your fire,
Set all of you aglow.
But if you stay in dreams,
My touch will carry on
Until your beauty beams
In the first rays of the dawn.

LOST DREAM
By Carl Martin Johnson
He’d lost his latest dream.
But he would find a new one.
A mighty, wondrous scheme.
He knew that he could do one.
He had grasped for many a star,
Although he had not caught one.
Couldn’t get to where they are,
Yet persistently he sought one.
One day he’d grab the glow
Of a dream there shining bright.
At last then he would know
How it felt to win the fight.

THE END OF THINGS
By Carl Martin Johnson
I’m coming to the end of things.
Death is very near.
I’ll soon see what the next stage brings,
What wonders will appear.
I feel no hesitation.
I’ll go willing through the door.
With great anticipation
Of what the next world holds in store.

IN MY HEART
By Carl Martin Johnson
I hold you in my heart,
Though you will never know it.
We’ll forever be apart.
But my eyes will show it.

TERRORIST
By Carl Martin Johnson
In the shadows he stood waiting.
Soon he would be killing.
He had grown up hating.
Now he found slaughter thrilling.
He knew his god would praise him,
Meet him at paradise’ gate,
Send heaven’s wonders to amaze him
As reward for all his hate.
He would overcome his fears
As the bloodlust filled his heart.
His attack was drawing near.
He longed for death to start.

CAN I GO BACK AND FIND MY YOUTH?
By Carl Martin Johnson
Can I go back and find my youth?
Does it still live inside me?
Or must I now accept the truth,
That time was sent to guide me?

ALONE
By Carl Martin Johnson
Sometimes I feel so damned alone,
Just the universe and I.
Tossed into existence on my own,
No one to see me cry.
My fellow humans stand apart.
They cannot reach inside.
No one there to warm my heart.
No tenderness to abide.
I share no life with those I hold.
No passion, only lust.
My loins afire quickly grow cold
With ejaculation’s thrust.
Why can’t my heart find more?
Why can’t my soul unite?
Will I find real love’s door,
Or is loneliness my plight?

STAR LOVER
By Carl Martin Johnson
She called me from a star.
Life form unlike my own.
No matter what we are,
It’s love that sits the throne.
I know that we will meet.
Will intermix our genes.
To make a life complete,
That from the old breast weans.
He will be a being new
Of our two worlds’ creation.
Many wonders he will do.
And be Mankind’s salvation.

Let me hear you purr.

You remind me of her.

START AGAIN
By Carl Martin Johnson
Today I’ll start my life again,
All of me renewed.
It matters not what I have been.
There’ll be better goals pursued.
I will put mistakes behind me,
Be kind where I had harmed.
Stand where grace can find me,
By evil not be charmed.
I’ll ensure the path I take
Is leading to the Light.
And my way, for honor’s sake,
Is guided by what’s right.
